Gold Crown Championship is the destination series of USAC. It could also be considered as being on the ladder system to the Premier Race Car Series in the USA and for drivers aspiring to the famous Indianapolis 500.

Gold Crown is being developed to allow teams and drivers to remain in USAC as they progress past sprint cars and the Silver Crown Series. Gold Crown will race at events with or immediately surrounding IndyCar and NASCAR weekends. This will allow USAC members to form associations with the teams of these premier race series while racing at quality venues. Gold Crown will provide a fun atmosphere
for a business focused environment.

Gold Crown was conceived by the late, great Bill France, a man who had incredible vision and brilliant ideas. That in itself bestows great credibility. Mr. France and his family brought us NASCAR, which has grown to the spectacular, extravaganza that is so well known today. The idea he had for Gold Crown was to form a link between the traditional American race car and premier race series in the USA, while racing at the larger tracks and creating premier events. The Gold Crown Championship is intended to bridge the gap between the fan base that supports local drivers' week-after-week and the nation series' that exist throughout North America (IndyCar, NASCAR, Grand Am, ALMS).
